On the PINE platform it is important to have a web camera and microphone turned on during live streams, so attendees can see and hear you.

Before going live, you will be offered to select your camera and microphone in the backstage. In this step, you can choose the necessary device for the micro and web camera. If you have chosen everything correctly and your camera and microphone work well, you can click on the blue button “Join” and wait till the start of the session.

Please note that you have the possibility to choose different software like ChromaCam that can add a virtual background to your camera.

Moreover, our team highly recommends attending and organizing events via Google Chrome or Chrome-based browsers.

Troubleshooting

Sometimes you can see error messages that your device is not found and you cannot select your devices to start the stream. In this case, we suggest that you check these recommendations for the Google Chrome browser in order to find a solution to this issue:

  • Please check if you gave browser permissions to access your web camera and microphone. To do that, just click on the padlock button next to the URL address and make sure you have allowed Google Chrome to access your devices.

  • Please check the website permissions to access your camera and microphone. You can do it in the Settings of Google Chrome -> Privacy and security -> Site settings. A detailed guide you can find here.

  • Make sure that you do not have other third-party software/services opened with your camera and microphone turned on. If you have such video conference apps opened (i.e. Zoom), please close them.

  • Click the back button and enter the room again to confirm the camera and microphone selection again.
